Sheri practices in
the areas of Family Law and Estates (including preparation of Wills
& Powers of Attorneys and the Administration of Estates). In
addition to all aspects of Family Court proceedings, she is trained in
negotiation, mediation and Collaborative Family Law. Sheri has been
appointed by the Office of the Children's Lawyer to represent children
in Family Court and Child Protection proceedings and she served in
this capacity for several years.
Following receipt of
a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from York University, Sheri
received her Bachelor of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in
1991.
Sheri was born and
raised in Toronto. She and her husband moved to Orillia at the
beginning of her legal career. In addition to her commitment to her
profession and being the mother of two sons, Sheri is also active in
the Orillia community.
Sheri is currently
serving on the Ethics Committee of Orillia Soldiers' Memorial
Hospital. She has served as a Board Member of the Orillia
chapter of Bereaved Families of Ontario; Richmond Youth and Family
Centre; former President of the Orillia Law Association; past member
of the Orillia Business Women's Association; and past organizing
committee member of the Central East Advocacy Conference. Sheri is
currently Co-Chair of the Ontario Bar Association Family Law Institute
2010.
