Tim’s practice is
concentrated in the area of Corporate and Commercial Law and Labour
& Employment Law.
Tim’s practice includes incorporating and organizing businesses,
assisting parties with business purchase/sale transactions,
corporate re-organizations & succession planning, reviewing
franchise documents, drafting shareholder and partnership agreements
and other similar matters.
Assisting businesses with their labour and employment needs since
1997, Tim has experience regarding employment contracts,
restructurings, wrongful dismissals, employment standards,
collective bargaining and grievance arbitrations.
Tim is a graduate of Harriett Todd Public School and Twin Lakes
Secondary School in Orillia. He earned his Bachelor of Science (Honours)
degree in Ecology & Evolution at the University of Western Ontario
in London, and completed his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School
in Toronto. After working in Toronto for a number of years, Tim and
his wife Wendy (nee Elliott) are proud to have their family call
Orillia home once again.
As a way of giving back to the community in which he was raised, Tim
remains active in the community. He is an active member and
Past-President of the Kiwanis Club of Orillia and is currently the
President and Chairperson of North Simcoe Victim Crisis Services.
Tim participates as
a mentor to local businesses through the Orillia Chamber of Commerce
Mentoring Program and is an active contributor to the Law Society of
Upper Canada’s Justicia Project. Tim is a member of the Orillia Law
Association and the Simcoe County Law Association, and has been a
guest lecturer for Laurentian University at Georgian College. He
also coaches T-Ball and sits on the Board of Directors for local
charitable and not-for-profit organizations and has helped many more
with their legal needs, often without charge.
